I wanted to share some links and videos with everyone that I have found over the last couple of months. These links vary by subject, but all are pretty damn awesome.

Filter Music- I really love this site. There are so many radio stations to choose from which are grouped by catagories on the left side of the site. I am, personally, stuck on the Technicolor Web of Sound- 60s psychedelic rock station. I feel like I should have been a 60’s/70’s baby when I listen to it.
Pandora- On Pandora you type in an artist at the prompt (I typed in “Goldfrapp”) and Pandora finds stations related to that artist and simular type of music. I even found an artist I like called Sia.
This Day In Music- Find out the number 1 song on the day you were born or the day you turned 18 or 21!
The following was created from hundreds of separate YouTube recordings. Check it out:
For Stoners (I really wish there were a nicer word to use):
I am posting this week’s playlist very early, since may not have a chance this weekend. For good reason, I am going to see my twinzin’ Tishy this weekend!!
This playlist features a mixture of old and new songs/artists. I especially love She & Him’s cover of “You Really Got a Hold On Me” so make sure you listen to that!
For anyone who doesn’t know, She & Him are an American indie folk band consisting of Zooey Deschanel (vocals, piano, banjo) and M. Ward (guitar, production).
A note about She & Him- Ward, having heard Deschanel sing previously in the film Elf, was surprised to learn that she wrote songs herself, but hadn’t pursued a career in music. Deschanel had actually done years worth of home demos, but was shy about becoming a big-name celebrity. On a whim, she decided to send them to Ward. Ward called her a short time later, telling her that he would like to record her songs properly, and their band She & Him was formed. Deschanel said in an interview: “I always have loved music, ever since I was really little. I just loved to sing.”
I was going to make the title of this, “Ricky, I’m homo” but at the last minute, I decided against it.
So, I was at work when I got this text from Tish, “so ricky martin came out.” My response, “Omg, we so gotta blog that shit!”
I was excited to blog about Ricky Martin coming out for two reasons. Firstly, he always seemed kinda fruit-a-liscous (yes, I just made that up) shaking his bom bom with women. Secondly, this means there is yet another celebrity my gay boy Ryan has to choose from. No longer does he have to choose between Lance Bass, Clay Aiken, and, basically all the guys on American Idol, he now has more variety. (Wow there are tons of gay singers)
He came out by making a post on his twitter that he is “I am proud to say that I am a fortunate homosexual man. I am very blessed to be who I am.” Hell yeah Ricky!! Not that noone knew, considering there are photos of him on the beach with men before. Which are both adorable and good n skanky at the same time.
I just had to put this picture because it made me laugh, not because this post has anything to do with Obama. lol.
Damn, why do stoners like me live in the wrong state?
Yes, it may actually happen, California could legalize marijuana for personal use. This initiative would allow anyone over the age of 21 the the ability to possess up to an ounce of marijuana. This is a step in a very good direction, as I and many others (yes, many of them fellow stoners) believe, prohibition and the war on drugs is NOT working.
The man behind the movement to legalize marijuana is Richard Lee, and he has been pushing for the end of marijuana prohibition for 17 years. This just may be that year!
If you want to get in on the movement and spread the word, one good place to visit would be NORML.org. This is not only good for if you live in California, but there are organizations all over the country!
Hopefully the rest of the country will follow suit on many other progressing issues as well (like gay marriage).
Here is this weeks playlist!! It’s pretty amazing, so give it a listen.
I am really loving Florence and The Machine. Here is a little information on them:
Florence Leontine Mary Welch (born 28 August 1986 in London) is the daughter of Evelyn Welch, a Harvard-educated Professor of Renaissance Studies and Academic Dean of Arts at Queen Mary University of London[7] an author and former Studio 54 regular, and Nick Welch, who works in advertising.[8] Welch enjoyed the music of Madonna, Hole, Nirvana, Green Day, Kate Bush, Annie Lennox, The Velvet Underground and Celine Dion.[8]
The Machine, the collective name for Welch’s backing band and collaborators, comprises of many different members who are often dependent on Welch’s requirements when performing.[13] Past members of the Machine have included Devonte Hynes, better known as Lightspeed Champion,[14] while the current line up includes Robert Ackroyd on guitar, Chris Hayden on drums, Isabella Summers (a.k.a. Machine) on keyboard and Tom Monger on harp.
I also find myself bobbing my head to “Fembot.” It’s just so damn catchy, plus, I am glad to hear some Robyn again. And on a final note, it’s pretty hypnotic to listen to Kula Shaker while having a “schmoke n’ a pancake.” Just had to say it.
