Since Ryan and I have been searching and discovering new music sites, (he currently loves Pandora and has got me into it) I found another music site that will be helpful in finding new music.
Gnoosic features a section that enables you to put in 3 bands you enjoy and finds new music bands based on what you already like. You can also discuss as well as check out the artist map.
This weeks playlist includes artists I have just discovered and re-discovered because of the site.
Also, if you’re into books and movies, you can discover and discuss your favorites as well.
I wanted to share some ringtones I made as well as the site, mytinyphone.com and the ringtones other people have made. There is also wallpaper, games and more that you can find for your phone.
I wanted to share some links and videos with everyone that I have found over the last couple of months. These links vary by subject, but all are pretty damn awesome.
Music Related
Filter Music- I really love this site. There are so many radio stations to choose from which are grouped by catagories on the left side of the site. I am, personally, stuck on the Technicolor Web of Sound- 60s psychedelic rock station. I feel like I should have been a 60’s/70’s baby when I listen to it.
Pandora- On Pandora you type in an artist at the prompt (I typed in “Goldfrapp”) and Pandora finds stations related to that artist and simular type of music. I even found an artist I like called Sia.
This Day In Music- Find out the number 1 song on the day you were born or the day you turned 18 or 21!
The following was created from hundreds of separate YouTube recordings. Check it out:
For Stoners (I really wish there were a nicer word to use):
I feel like such a bad chicken for not being able to post more. We lack internet and cable at my home right now because ,yes, we are poor white trash but thankfully I can use Kye and Deriek’s whenever I’m here. Lucy and Ryan have been giving you all loads of goodies I see. Lucky lucky chics you are! The most exciting thing I have going on in my life right now is Baby Gabe and this amazing thing called P90X.
For those who haven’t seen the ads for it yet, it’s this KICKASS 3 month work out program that is just…Amazing. It kills you but you feel SO DAMN GOOD while it’s happening. There are a set of DVDs, each an hour to an hour and a half long and OH MY you should see some of these people who stick to it. Everyone, check it out, even if you aren’t overweight, they do yoga with it too and it’s so relaxing. You feel so fulfilled afterwards. For serious peoples. You can go to youtube and see videos people have made of their progression.
I also quit smoking…NOT THE HASH! Just the ciggies. I just woke up one morning and didn’t feel the want or need. Haven’t craved one since and I’m feeling awesome! *snaps for tishy* Well I’m going to go make me some couscous now with some beans.
Oh my fuck people, I think I’m becoming a true hippie. Whatever, check out P90X!
So, while watching an episode of “Who Wants to Be A Millionaire” after a short shift at work, there was a question about the internet prank, “Being Rick Rolled.” The lady didn’t know the answer, (which I figured, old school lady) so she asked the audience. The one cool thing in this pointless story is, they thought it was an adult film.
For those who don’t know what being “Rick Rolled” is: Rickrolling is an Internet meme typically involving the music video for the 1987 Rick Astley song “Never Gonna Give You Up”. The meme is a bait and switch: a person provides a web link that they claim is relevant to the topic at hand, but the link actually takes the user to the Astley video. The URL can be masked or obfuscated in some manner so that the user cannot determine the true destination of the link without clicking. When a person clicks on the link and is led to the web page, he or she is said to have been “Rickrolled”.
Well, all this got me thinking about the last time I was “Rick Rolled.” It almost makes me want to search for “Alice In Wonderland 2010 free” on YouTube. Why? Because even though after the first few seconds of realizing “Never gonna give you up” is not in the Inglorious Bastards script, for a moment, it makes me smile. As well do the comments on that very YouTube video.
Which reminds me, Ryan hasn’t been “Rick Rolled” yet…
I just had to post this because it is hilarious. Pictures taken at unusual angles. Love it!
I think we could probably find a couple we’ve done, including a tell tale picture of my ass hovering in the background while my nephew is taking a picture with a Christmas gift. I shall find that picture and burn it.
