So, I’ve decided, it’s time to get on my soapbox. It’s been, way too long since I have posted anything going on in my life, one reason as not to jinx myself. (with OCD, I can be slightly superstitious)
Over the past few months, there were slight areas of drama that are finally fading away. It’s as if all of the horrible times my friends and I had to endure, life is finally giving us a little hope. Not that I’m expecting everything from here on out to run smoothly, it’s now we are getting reminders that life really is exciting, spectacular and every now and again, just peaceful.
Two months ago I signed up for a little online dating, and heck, I even dished out the cash to give it a try, Something I wouldn’t have done years ago. So far I’ve only been on one date, haha, mainly because I’m seeing where things go. It’s all exciting and strange and weird for me, but in the best way, I swear. He makes me smile, makes me giddy, makes me girlie… to my dismay.
On the working front, my job, well, isn’t going so well. Not that being a waitress is ever “well” but I don’t feel like I used to at my job. I feel singled out and unappreciated. Something I guess happens everywhere. So many of my friends have left, been fired for idiotic reasons, it’s just so, sullen there now. I joke everytime I get into work that a tiny tiny piece of my soul dies when I walk in, totally feels that way. Soon I’ll have to leave “the creek” because of it, hopefully find something new to do.
Now, off the soapbox and lets get on to some music! I was listening to some Sneaker Pimps, (from when Kelli was still in the band) Oasis and some INXS before writing this, so I’ll share some videos. Enjoy!
P.S this now the time to work on some more “bucket list” items.
Alright, as I’m sure many of you know, Megan Fox had a roll in Eminem and Rihanna’s new video for the song ‘Love the Way You Lie’. Megan Fox (Most known for her slutty comments and even more slutty nature, but I guess her few “acting” roles as well) co-stars with Dominic Monaghan (You know, he was a hobbit and a junkie…Totally love him btw, he’s adorable) as a couple in a highly dysfunctional relationship. Their life is filled with fighting, drinking, missing better times and ending it all by making up by the end of the day. Nothing that hasn’t been done before, except how it’s handled in this video.
With the cut scenes to Eminem and Rihanna, the flashes of the couple in their best and worst times and the intense ending, I must admit how I was rocked to my core. My first thought though was ‘holy shit! bitch can act’ there was passion in this 4 minute 27 second video than I have ever seen in ANY of her acting any where else. It wasn’t just the song, it wasn’t just who else appeared in the video, no Megan Fox truely became a role. Maybe she has a past with abuse, maybe she’s loved someone so much that she lost herself to the pain and the suffering because there were times, moments, where all she felt was passion, didn’t matter if it was love or hate. Maybe it’s just cause she liked the song, whatever the hell it was she shone! She was BEAUTIFUL (I have never found her to be beautiful, nice to look at or whatever but who is she bothers me to high hell, makes her all the less attractive to me) she acts, she tells a story without opening her mouth, with only the help of music. I’d talk about how great other things of it all were/are, but the thing is I don’t need to talk those up. I wasn’t surprised for the greatness they produced because it’s expected of them. They’re great at what they do. So because of that I say watch the video, be surprised by the amazing story and fall in love with the beauty. Tell us what you think as well!
This week’s videos feature fandoms focused on different royalty and monarchs, including Kings, Queens, aristocrats and members of historic royal families depicted in movies.
Enjoy these videos
The first is a video I found of Marie Antoinette, using clips from the movie of the same title, starring Kirsten Dunst. I love the different music and ways the movie portrays Marie Antoinette, even though many critics hated the movie.
This fanvideo uses “Stripped” by Shiny Toy Guns, and I love it! The period piece used is the movie “The Duchess” the biography 18th-century English aristocrat Georgiana Cavendish, Duchess of Devonshire.
I really need to watch more Tudors on Netflix, but for now, I love this next video, made for Henry and Anne.
Manipulated story lines are very interesting and really helps you to get other story lines besides what the writers have made in the show. It’s much more than just tribute videos, it helps you stretch your imagination. If you read fanfiction, you will love these videos.
This video is sad, and a beautifully done manipulation. In the video, the story is changed into JD having cancer.
This video takes a look at Eric and Sookie’s relationship on True Blood, and what could have happened if Sookie met Eric before meeting Bill.
This next one is a Draco/Hermione ship, something I had never even thought would work, but some of the videos are really good, and convincing with the editing.
This one is for the first season of True Blood, back when I really wanted Tara and Jason to end up together. I still think they would be adorable, that’s if Jason could control himself.
I am amazed at some of the fandom videos I am finding on YouTube, and as a maker myself, (of fan videos, not vampires, though I’d like to be) I decided to add a weekly list of fan videos from YouTube.
This will include old and new videos, from a variety of fandoms. I hope everyone likes the lists and come back every week for new ones.
This week’s fandom is, what else, but vampires!
A bit slashy, but I like it. Plus, these are two of my favorite vampires, there’s just something about Lestat.
On a side note, I love how Eric’s bisexual side is coming out in True Blood.
I won’t spoil anyone who isn’t caught up with the latest episode of True Blood, but I will say, I know it’s wrong, but I like Franklin. Scary as that may sound, check out the amazing video below.
Of course, Eric and Sookie, who are my favorite fandom right now.
This video features many different vampire fandoms, including, Underworld, Interview With The Vampire, True Blood, Queen of the Damned and more.
How could I forget Spuffy?! Never! Even though it’s not my favorite fandom, I still love the videos and hate that they didn’t end up together. This video is done so well and I love the text in with the dialogue.
I had a few of the songs from Chicago stuck in my head, so when I saw this fan video using “Cellblock Tango” I immediately loved it. The video is a collaboration between fan video makers on YouTube, the editing is amazing, and you won’t be disappointed, watch it below.
