from ABC.comSo, I wasn’t able to go to the Renaissance festival, and Tish isn’t able to watch it with me, so, I am doing what I know is best to do when plans fail. Grab my pipe and look at all the pretty dresses. I would say, ‘and ugly’ but I actually think everyone looks great tonight.

So far, NPH had a hilarious opening song, and Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin’s opening act is amazing (‘ooh look, there’s George Clooney’ and ‘here’s the Inglourious Bastard’s section, and here’s the people that made the movie’)

Drew Barrymore looks so beautiful and is wearing the perfect dress. I may be partial because I usually go for wearing black myself.

Christoph Waltz won for Inglourious Basterds, we WAS that role. He deserves it.

And, just in, Tish is watching with me, and Hurt Locker won Best Screenplay!

I also gotta say, I’m loving the 80’s montage of stars who were bigger then, than now, but it’s a touching tribute to John Hughes.

Hurt Locker also won for Best Picture.  I’m actually glad Avatar didn’t win Best Picture, glad that it wasn’t about being a blockbuster to win.

One thing I predicted correctly was Sandra Bullock winning Best Actress.  I’m quite proud of that lol

So in the middle of working on my other blog that David is helping me with I took a break and watched one of the most amazing musicals EVER.

Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog (2008)

An aspiring supervillain must balance his career and his pursuit of a beautiful do-gooder.
Writer/Producer/Director:
Joss Whedon
Staring:
Neil Patrick Harris as Billy/Dr. Horrible
Nathan Fillion as Captain Hammer
Felicia Day as Penny
To Buffy the Vampire Slayer fans out there, ‘Once More With Feeling’ is a pretty epic episode. Up there with ‘Hush’ IMO.  Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog proves that once again Joss really does know how to cover all the bases. While you’re laughing at the random humor and quick wit you’re also being sucked into a classic love story of nerd guy(Billy) falling for what he believes to be an out of his league girl(Penny). Then you have the douche who knows how to charm and woo those around him (Captain Hammer) that sweeps sweet Penny off her feet. To top all this offf the movie/show is a musical. The songs are catchy, funny at times and everyone of them moving. To sum it up, it’s musical fun with a message that cuts deep by the end. It’s broken down into three acts and the whole thing is only 43 mins. long, so you have no reason not to head over to www.movies-links.tv/ and give it a go. Trust me, you’ll love it!

Alice in Wonderland-2010

Director:Tim Burton
Writers:Linda Woolverton (screenplay) Lewis Carroll (books)

alicemovie2010

Finally, its almost time.

Thanks to Ryan, I found out about the movie a very long time ago, (in stoner minutes, this was agonizing) and the wait is almost over.

The release date here in the US is March 5th. I plan on seeing it with Ryan, and will spread the news of how amazing it will be. I am already in love with the coloring, and I am also curious about Johnny Depp as Hatter. Plus, gotta love Mr. Burton (most of his movies anyway).

Hopefully we won’t be let down. :)

Apparently, Lindsay Lohan lobbied for the role of Alice, which went to Mia Wasikowska. Good call, not like she had a chance anyway.

Also, auditions for 250 extras were held in the British city of Plymouth on August 6th and 7th. Requirements were for people with a ‘Victorian look’ and for applicants to have no visible tattoos, piercings or dyed hair.

…I guess we never had a chance.
